Full Day Kayak Tours
Paddle the edges of Cowichan Bay, around Cherry Point or into Sansum Narrows. Tour runs from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm.
Times and Locations
TIMES:
●Approximately 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM (tide and current dependant)
We have two types of day trips. One is only on specific days because it is current dependant. The more general day tour is available most days and is not dependant on currents. These day trips in a kayak are a wonderful way to explore more of the area by water. Our ultimate paddling location is wind, weather and skill dependent. Have a look at out two options.
Sansum Narrows Explorer
Available:
This tour requires a little bit of confidence on water and generally good fitness. If you have paddled before and are comfortable in a kayak, this is is a great opportunity to explore the Vancouver Island/Salt Spring Island southern boundary and pass through Sansum Narrows, going from Cowichan Bay to Maple Bay (or vice versa). This tour has more logistics because we begin and end in different locations. This passage can be an exciting way to get a first experience of paddling in a little bit of current and using the eddies along the shores. The Biggs Orcas travel regularly through this channel, looking for seals in the area, so this tour often becomes a whale watching tour as well. So, if you are looking for a real journeying day trip, this is a great one!
Cowichan Bay Circle Paddle
